Very nice Sascha. Been wondering where you've been... Easier to post on DA than it is Denali Don't worry... I know exactly how that goes.
I think you might have missed the written piece I posted -- which no one really seemed to care about. Not much response on literature here on DA, alas. If you missed it, let me know and I'll email you. I think you might like it.
I like this very much for the contrasting colors of the green moss and the orange leaves and the subject matter is a powerful statement. Not just man made being swallowed up by nature, but how in all of it we are a part of nature.
I once had a born-again guy come to me and ask me if my Darwin fish gave me comfort at night (I think he was thinking that those who believe in the process of evolution are frightened by an absence of god or something). I paused and thought about it. I told him yes, it did.
That was because I saw everything as part of the cycle of nature, not apart from it. If nature represents that which is holy to me, then why would I fear evolution? If I am to go the way of the dinosaur... so be it... its part of the natural process and I am honored to have been part of it.

No matter how hard I try... I can't escape myself.
Thank you very, very much for your kind comment and your thoughts on this photo, Trish.
You are right, and your perspective of the cycle of nature, and how we are part of it is even wider than what my initial thoughts were. Well, we are all to got the way of the dinosaur, wether we like it or not, but we can do so with the pride you mentioned to be part of it - and if it's only as fertilizer for a tree that outlasts our life by far
PS: Yes, sorry, I indeed missed it - as you know, I haven't been too active on the internet lately because of real life stuff , so it must have slipped my attention. But I'd love to read it and give you feedback.

Thanks so much for your kind words! This tree has been kind of a companion for me for almost all of my life - it's been there when I first visited my granddad's grave (he died when I was 2 years old) in that cementery, he's still here today and I do sincerely hope it will still be there when I've long since gone and impress further generations of children and adults alike.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
